STEVE SCHEIDLER - BOARD PRESIDENT
Steve has lived in Hill Valley Estates for 40 years, and he is interested in
preserving the family, friendly environment of Hill Valley. Because of his
strong conviction he became involved in the Hill Valley Homeowners Association.
He served 3 years as Vice President of HVHA before being elected President in
November of 2003. Steve grew up in Millhousen, Indiana and graduated from
Napoleon High School, he is retired from the McLean Trucking Company where he
was an over-the-road driver for many years. He served with the Army during the
Korean War from 1953-1955. Steve is a member of St. Barnabas Catholic Church,
the American Legion and the Monsignor Downey K of C. He and his wife Dorothy
have been married for 49 years; they have 2 grown children, and 6
grandchildren.
DONALD A. SMITH - VICE PRESIDENT
Don Smith was born and raised in Dayton, Ohio and was graduated from Harvard
University in Science and Mathematics. He began his career as an aerospace
engineer and served as manager of international operations for the Guided
Missiles Division of North American Aviation in Columbus, Ohio. He worked for
eight years with NATO and Middle Eastern countries. He then became director of
guided bomb programs and the Condor missile program and continued direct
business with those same countries. He came to Indiana as the Chief Financial
Officer of the Calspan Corporation and continued his international
relationships. He left industry to serve the United Methodist Church, first as
Chief Financial Officer of the North Indiana Conference and then as Deputy
General Secretary of Health Benefits for the denomination. He retired from the
church and moved to Indianapolis in 1996. He is currently the President of
KidSolve, Inc. an educational services company; and, an Enrolled Agent. For
eighteen years he has served in the AARP Tax Aide Program assisting seniors and
low income families in filing their state and federal taxes. He is currently
the Regional Coordinator for the Great Lakes region covering six states
involving over 4,000 volunteers helping over 250,000 taxpayers.
He is married, has four grown children and ten grandchildren, and enjoys
gardening, teaching and theater. He reads extensively and keeps up on foreign
affairs with his friends in the countries where he did business for many years.
ERNESTINE NICHOLSON - BOARD SECRETARY
Ernestine Nicholson served as the Marion County Personnel Director from 1983 -
1993, retiring because of health in December of 1993. She was an elected member
of the Wayne Township Advisory Board form 1986 - 1994. Before her career with
County Government her chosen profession was "home engineer", which she happily
and enthusiastically enjoyed for 20 years
She served as President of the Eagle Creek GOP Club from 1993-1995, and
presently services as President of the Greater Indianapolis Republican Women's
Club. She is presently the Americanism Chairman for the Indiana Federation of
Republican Woman.
Ernestine is a member of the Women in Neighborhood Service, Wayne Township GOP
Club, Perry Township GOP Club and the North side Service Committee on
Republican Education. She served as a City County Council appointee on the
Equal Opportunity Advisory Board for the City of Indianapolis from 1995 until
January of 2004
She was honored with the distinguished "Royal Order of Loyal Republicans Hall
of Fame Award" for 2003 by the Marion County Republican Central Committee for
her years of dedication and service to the Republican Party.
Ernestine and her husband Ron have two grown children and five grandchildren.
She enjoys world travel, reading and cooking. Adding to her huge collection of
cookbooks is a significant source of pleasure for her.
JOHN H. RENAULT
I have lived in Hill Valley since 1969 with my wife of 48 years, June. I have
three daughters who graduated from Perry Meridian High School and IU. I have
been an active member of the board for the last 10 years. I have been in charge
of memberships for the past seven years.
I am a native of France, where I used to be a member of the French Resistance
prior to becoming a Math and Physics instructor. Arrived in this country as a
beneficiary of the Marshall plan, became a US citizen and have worked the last
35 years as an Electronic Engineer specializing in high frequencies: Radar,
Satellite Communications, automatic pilots etc. This is the way I was involved
in the design of the telemetry transmitter for the Apollo capsule, and the RF
feasibility study for the Awacs aircraft...I worked also for several local
companies: RCA (video disk), Wavetek (Test equipment), Electra (Bearcat
Scanner), Regency (Satellite Communications).
Presently semi-retired; doing some consulting, free lance, translating French
to English and vice-versa for different organizations, teaching French at
Central Nine, and working as a substitute teacher at Perry Meridian Middle and
High Schools.
CHARLIE ELDRIDGE
Charlie was the Supervisor of the Major Overhead Projects Engineering Division at the Indianapolis Power & Light Company and retired after 38 years with the company. Charlie is now a consultant for the Indianapolis Power & Light Company, working with codes and standards. Charlie continues to serve as an Edison Electric Institute Principal member on Code Making Panel 10 for the National Electrical Code.
Charlie was raised in Cambridge City, Indiana and served in the USAF from 1963 – 1967 and the USAF Active Reserves from 1967 - 1969. Charlie married Evelyn Sayers in November, 2005 and moved into Hill Valley at that time. They have four daughters and three grandchildren between them.
