If you have an old date watch like I do, this is not the 31st of June! I just reset my watch to the 1st of July.

The deadline for your dues payments is coming up soon. I will be picking up the dues payments from the post office and processing them on July 11th. If have not received your annual dues by the 11th, you will not receive your ticket to the HVHA annual picnic with the July newsletter. You are welcome to come anyway and pay them at the gate. There will be more information about the picnic in the newsletter.

Information about fireworks. There has been a very good discussion on NextDoor about fireworks. Following is some of the discussion.

The initial post on NextDoor states, "The sheriff has put a message out to all. Please do not call 911 to complain about fireworks. Please be aware with every 911 call an officer or 2 must be dispatched. Therefore takes up their time for more important emergencies. Thank you all. We will get through the holiday and your pets will too!"   The first comment to really grab my attention was, "Please also be considerate of our Veterans . . . many have issues with the explosion of the fireworks." Another person posted the link to the brochure that gives a synopsis of the Indiana Fireworks law (in my opinion, it was well done and worth reading).   The City of Indianapolis' Ordnance restricts fireworks to "between the hours of 5:00 p.m. and two (2) hours after sunset" and the cutoff on using fireworks extends until July the 9th.. On July 4, the times change to between the hours of 10:00 a.m.. and 12:00 midnight.
